Artistic Treeworks maintains the highest standards of tree care in the Southeast Washington area and is proud to offer the services of two ISA Certified Arborists.
Tree Pruning
Proper pruning is essential in developing a tree with a strong structure and desirable form. At Artistic Treeworks, we know that pruning must be done with an understanding of tree biology because improper pruning can create lasting damage or shorten the tree’s life. All pruning work is performed to International Society of Arboriculture and American National Standards Institute (ANSI A300) standards under the supervision of an ISA Certified Arborist. Our tree care professionals will operate with the utmost care in providing for your tree care needs.

Tree Removals
Trees can be removed in a variety of ways in order to accommodate the large variety of spaces that they grow in. Ordinarily, a tree climber will ascend the tree and cut it into smaller sections that are carefully lowered down to the ground. Alternatively, they may use a bucket truck to do this work. We can also use a crane to remove each section. Other situations may involve trees that were planted within confined or tight spaces, such as between two homes that are close together. Power lines may also be involved or there may be other hazards. Whatever the situation, we have the experience, knowledge, and equipment to bring your tree down safely.
Stump & Root Grinding
Stump grinders are powerful machines that are used by professionals to grind a stump (below ground level) into small wood chips. Not only does this stop any regrowth from the stump, it also allows for replanting in the same area. These same machines can be used to grind tree roots that may be causing a tripping hazard or threaten your home's foundation. Hiring Artistic Treeworks to do this for you ensures that you won't accidentally cut through important structures nearby. We always offer stump grinding services when we remove a tree, but you may also hire us to grind stumps that already exist.
Shrub pruning & removals
The care of each plant in a landscape can affect the health of every other plant on your property. We can help you to keep your plants healthy or remove them if problems have gone undetected for too long. Our goal is to maintain or improve plant productivity and health in order to prevent that from happening, but we are properly equipped if that unfortunate situation arises.
Risk Assessment
Keeping your property safe is one of our top priorities. Broken branches, declining tree health, or an overgrown canopy are a few of the more obvious signs that your tree is becoming more hazardous. But perhaps you want to be worry-free when the next wind storm comes around. Our Certified Arborist can analyze your trees for defects and make recommendations for pruning, structural work, removal, or other options. They may also identify signs of pest infestations that you would not normally notice. This can help to prevent a dangerous situation, increase the longevity of the tree, and improve your curb appeal.
Root Management
The root system of a tree anchors it and allows for the intake of water and nutrients for growth and development. However, there are also ways in which the roots can become harmful to a tree’s health. A Certified Arborist can identify various problems by performing a root crown exam. The root crown is the area of transition between the trunk of a tree and the supporting roots. We can also install root barriers when trenching or excavation may be done near a tree. Finally, root pruning may be necessary when a tree is planted improperly causing girdled roots that choke-off the tree’s supply of food and water. This is a process that is best left to the Certified Arborist so as not to make matters worse.
Support Systems
Tree support systems may extend the life of a tree or reduce the risk of catastrophic failure. Though they cannot eliminate all hazards, a carefully constructed installation can reduce the risks. Your tree may need one or more of these systems if it has suffered from split, or decayed branch unions. Multi-stemmed trees are also at risk of breakage. Whether it’s the installation of cables to provide support between two limbs, anchors for newly transplanted trees, or bracing to provide support for a junction, you should always hire a Certified Arborist to do the work. We will carefully assess your tree to verify that it’s a good candidate or make other recommendations if it is not.
Written Estimates
We will send a Certified Arborist to your property to assess the tree work that you want to have done. They will offer suggestions as to how we can best accommodate your needs while also maintaining the health of your trees. At the same time, they will visually check your trees for signs of stress, structural integrity, and pest activity. You will receive a written estimate that outlines the cost of the work we recommend so that you can decide what works best for you.
